Our Story
WeFundIt was founded in 2020 with a simple but powerful vision: to create a platform that makes it easy for anyone, anywhere to fund humanitarian projects that matter.
Our founder, Sarah Johnson, spent 15 years working in humanitarian aid across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She witnessed firsthand the incredible impact that well-funded projects could have on communities in need, but also saw how many worthy initiatives struggled to secure funding.
With this experience, Sarah assembled a team of technology experts, nonprofit professionals, and social entrepreneurs to build WeFundIt—a platform dedicated to connecting passionate changemakers with supporters worldwide.
Today, WeFundIt has helped fund over 1,400 projects in 78 countries, raising more than $24 million for humanitarian causes. But we're just getting started. Our vision is to become the world's leading platform for humanitarian crowdfunding, empowering a global community of changemakers to address the most pressing challenges of our time.
